Standard Lesson Format:           Standard Duration: 60 minutes

 

60 MINUTES: Conversation

 

*      5-7 Minutes: Introduction, Warm up, Ice Breaker and Language Introduction
Allows to switch into English conversation mode, Relax and become ready for focused study.
Outline of lesson key points and language focus.
After this point no Japanese should be used



 

*      2-3 Minutes: Picture Speculation
Allows for natural usage of language, assessment of problem areas and free expansion of target language

 

*      3-7 Minutes Controlled Practicing/ Drilling
Focused practicing of correct Language Usage in regards to target language and Lesson topic

 

*      3-7 Minutes Mini-application
Initial assessment and near natural use of target language of the lesson topic

 

 

*      2-7 minutes Comprehension Speculation/ Comprehension
Designed to focus attention to listening comprehension and build ability to comprehend native speakers at native speeds

 

*      10-15 Minutes Final Application
final focused use of the language, time for expansion of target language and to attempt target language in near natural environment

 

*      10 -20 Minutes: focused work Grammar, Pronunciation, Comprehension, Composition, Vocabulary
Focused attention to student�s weakness or desired focus of study.

STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY AND OBLIGATIONS

 

  1. Attempt to be prompt or give min. notice of cancellation or delay
    [May vary depending on student priority 40 min-24 hours

  2. Give 40 min-24 hour notice of desired lesson time and date
  3. Please make payment prompt, payment may be made by several options or whatever is easiest for students. Recommended is to pay upon completion of lesson.
  4. Need materials; additional note taking supplies, 3.5 inch floppy if student has PC access

 

INSTRUCTORS RESPONSIBILITY AND OBLIGATIONS

 

  1. Respond to student scheduling needs as dictated by student priority
  2. Give students 40 min-24 hours of cancellation
  3. Will offer free assessment and clarification of lesson after the completion of every hour
  4. Will vary lesson goals and targets as demanded by Student
  5. Will provide efficient instruction focused on achieving students goals  in the shortest amount of time
  6. Will provide all materials, except, specially request items
  7. Will integrate any desired student materials with in lesson framework
  8. Will provide lesson assessments and simulated lesson material in a timely fashion after completion of lesson
  9. Instructor will be available to student for schedule time regardless of student attendance

ASSESSMENT

 

Student Assessment will be score on the following basis

 

Communicative Ability�able to use language for survival basis with minimum effort required by native speaker

 

Accuracy�Accuracy of vocabulary, usage and grammar

 

Fluency�Ability to effortlessly  communicate quickly and easily with semi accurate structures

 

Pronunciation�ability to quickly and clear create verbal and no verbal language sounds

 

Assessments will also include a review of previous assessment points and of new needs and suggest course of study and alternative learning methods
